๐Ÿ›ผ How to Do a Mistrial Grind – Aggressive Inline Tutorial

Difficulty: Intermediate
Best for: Street spots, ledges, coping
Style points: 10/10 if you lock it clean ๐Ÿ˜Ž

๐ŸŽฏ What is a Mistrial Grind?

The Mistrial is a soul grind variation where your front foot is in the frontside position (toe facing forward), and your back foot is in the classic soul position (toe facing out). It looks steezy and technical—perfect for adding some flavor to your clips.

๐Ÿง  Before You Try It

  • Basic soul grinds
  • Frontside grinds
  • Jumping onto ledges confidently

๐Ÿช„ Step-by-Step Breakdown

  1. Find a good ledge or box
Low, waxed, and stable. Curbs or low ledges are ideal.
  2. Approach at a slight angle
Not too straight and not too sideways—think 45 degrees.
  3. Jump and lock your skates
Front foot lands like a frontside grind. Back foot turns out into soul position. Keep knees bent and arms balanced.
  4. Lean slightly into the ledge
Just enough to keep balance without slipping off.
  5. Ride it out and exit clean
Pop off the ledge or slide to the end. Spot your landing and roll away smoothly.

๐Ÿงผ Common Mistakes

  • Leaning too far forward = you'll slip out
  • Not committing = awkward landing or missed lock
  • Wrong foot placement = messy or missed grind
